Sample review
What to review before sample approval
Keep the product, accessories, artwork and packaging on one approval checklist.

Identify the sample clearly
Record the sample model, supplied kit contents and the configuration being evaluated. Keep photographs of the tool, battery, charger, accessories and packaging with the review notes. This helps everyone identify the same version.
If a sample is for function review only, record which branding or packing elements are still to be approved. Do not treat a functional sample as approval for branding or packaging that is not included.
Review the product in context
Check the controls, visible assembly, fit and relevant operating features against the intended application and agreed specification. Use the product according to its instructions. Specialized performance or compliance evaluation should follow the test plan agreed for the model.
- Model identity and specification reference.
- Controls, visible finish and assembly.
- Approved battery and charger combination.
- Accessory fit and kit quantities.
- Relevant instructions and warning information.

Check the presentation
Review the logo position, colour reference, product label and model naming. Check the manual language, printed artwork, packaging arrangement and carton marks. Compare the physical sample with the latest artwork proof.
Confirm the ordered appearance and kit contents in the final product specification. The ordered appearance and kit contents should be stated in the final specification.
Record issues and decisions
Describe each issue clearly, identify the affected model or component and include useful photographs. Note whether the item requires a revised sample, artwork correction or clarification in the order documents.
Close the review with a dated list of approved details and any remaining conditions. Confirm which version is intended for production. Revisit affected items if the battery, charger, accessories, labels or packing changes later.
Use the approved sample for the order
Keep the sample approval, final quotation, item list and artwork together. Use those references when reviewing the order and planning a repeat purchase. For support after delivery, provide the model and order reference so the discussion can begin with the right configuration.
